Christian Bale is interested in playing Solid Snake ?

In 2007 , some press said Christain bale interested in play Solid snake in MGS film. Now after 2 years , no one to confirm about the MGS coming film what is really going on right now?
I really hope foresee what will happen in the future.
BTW Christain bale is my favorite actor.
